‘Going green’ is a concept for people to learn how to make environment friendly choices in their daily life. Mother Nature’s beauty, purity, innocence, vastness, infinity and vigor evoke a range of feelings in human beings. These emotions permeate magically through nature’s silent yet graceful presence. Nature has endowed our country with its wonderful creation cradled in the form of bio-diversity but we are in danger of losing our precious wealth unless we, the people, learn the great truth of conservation in order to avoid the worse circumstances which we may have to face in future.
Biodiversity conservation, Tree care and plantation will arrest carbon emissions and preserve Ozone layer. In order to promote the concept of green life a ‘Eco and Go Green Club’ is formed in the College. The membership is limited to active and serious students only. They will be catalysts of the green movement in the College.
We are constantly putting our effort for the betterment of the environment with utmost zeal and vigor and we hope that this effort does not diminish for years to come as the sustainability of the environment is dependent on the human activities and we as a responsible citizen of the Mother Nature should contribute towards making this world a better place to live in. It is the time that our present generations should realize the value of green world and work towards sustainable development.
Student members of the club have taken out rallies for bringing environmental awareness among the people. Important environment days are being celebrated by the club like ‘International wildlife day, ‘Environmental awareness day’, Green Consumer day’ etc. Various competitions are being organized for the students like Poster making Competition’, Debates, Rangoli making competition, and Caption contest etc. Students participate with great enthusiasm and interest. Every year new tree species are being added to the campus including horticulture, shady, flowering, fruit and some medicinal varieties. The club continuously makes efforts for recycling water and waste in the campus. Recently ‘Used Sanitary Napkin incinerator machine’ has been installed in college hostel. Two composting units have been started in the campus for recycling of waste.
Our vision is to create a natural, holistic, student-centered learning environment that empowers and inspires our students to be creative, innovative, green leaders and eco friendly decision makers.
‘We are doing our small efforts to save the environment and the mother earth’.
