Red Ribbon Cell

Red ribbon club is a movement by the Government of India in educational Institutions through which students will be making awareness of AIDS. Through RRC youth are encouraged to learn about safe, healthy lifestyles and donating blood to all the needy by promotion of regular voluntary blood donation. Red ribbon is a symbol for both drug prevention and fight against AIDS. 

The significance of Red Ribbon

  • Red like love, is a symbol of passion and tolerance for the affected.
  • Red like blood, represents the pain experienced by those who have AIDS.
  • Red like the anger about the helplessness for a disease for which there is still no cure.
  • Red is a sign of warning not to ignore one of the biggest problems of our time.

Activities under Red Ribbon Club

  1. International Youth week celebrated from 13 th August to 20th August, 2014.
  2. District Level competetions i.e Poster making, collage making on AIDS were held on 20-8-2014.
  3. Rally on AIDS Day.
  4. Hemoglobin Check up Camp.
  5. Poster Making Competetion on Cancer.
  6. Blood Donation Camp on 20-8-2014.
  7. Seminar on Cancer on 25-08-2015.
  8. Candle march against AIDS on 15-3-2016.
  9. Seminar on AIDS by Assistant Director, Youth Services, Sri Muktsar Sahib.
