Keeping with the pledge of being a socially responsible institution, Guru Nanak College, Sri Muktsar Sahib had started a Vermicompost Unit under the able guidance of Principal, Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal in 2017. In this context, a Short Term Course in Vermicompost is running under the guidance of Dr. Mandeep Kaur Dhillon, Asst. Prof in Botany. Students participated in the Short Term Course from 21-28 Jun. 2021. The students learned about the basic concepts involved in the making of Vermicompost through practical and PowerPoint presentations. The students learned how to make the ‘Black Gold’. The Vermicompost made in the Campus Unit is either sold to interested students and teachers or utilized in the Botanical Garden in the College.
